Magic Pencil: Making it Stick

"You'll see in a minute, Jonny," Karyn said with a sly smirk on her face. She finished writing on the page, using the wall as a surface to rest the notepad on out of the diminutive Jon's reach while body-blocking him from being able to see what she'd written. ---- **Jon is 5 feet 1 inch tall in his shoes.** **Trying to fix this without Karyn's permission will only make it worse.** ---- "There! All done. That wasn't so bad, now, was it, Jonny-boy? If you promise to be a good boy, you can have this back now," Karyn teased in a playful voice. She felt dangerously close to giggling at the worried look on Jon's face. For his part, Jon was calmed by her offer to return the pencil. But only a little bit calmed. He was seeing a side of his friend Karyn that he had never seen before, and wondered if the magic weren't somehow to blame for it all. "Okay, okay! I promise!" he hastily agreed, eager to see what she'd done and set himself right once more.
