At the sound of a door swinging open, Lucy began to quicken her pace in the direction opposite the sound. But a man stepped out from an alley, sneering at her as he blocked her path. "Afternoon. We've been expectin' a pretty brown-haired lass."
Lucy gasped in terror as the thieves surrounded her. "What... Stay back! Don't-"
Lucy felt herself be yanked off her feet by one of the rogues before she could use the Ring, and slung haphazardly over his shoulder.
"The boss wants her alive! Now quick, the ring!"
Another rogue approached with a knife, eyeing her finger. Lucy had to act fast! She quickly pointed at her target and said...
"I can escape!" (13)
At this point, I actually started using a dice roller to randomize the relative success of Luke/Lucy's actions. The odds are in our hero(ine?)'s favor, but pobody's nerfect; the lower the roll, the more likely it is a faux pas, magic or otherwise, occurs.
