Good Deed

He thought about his brother...and suddenly the image of his mother came into his mind. She wouldn't appreciate it if he turned Jon into something. While Mikey wasn't the most wonderful person in the world, he suddenly felt a twinge of conscience. He should do something nice for his mother. He thought about it. What could he wish for? Then it hit him. His mother worked a secretary job because she never went to college. He'd heard her say she regretted it a thousand times, and that he and his brother and sister shouldn't make the same mistake. "I wish my mom went to college," he said. The stone flashed and everything attenuated, as if the universe was about to sneeze...
