Mikey Sees the Extent of His Wish

Mikey ran outside and watched Jon walking to school in the distance. But he didn't see Zoe anywhere. When he turned to look in the other direction, something caught his eye. But it wasn't Zoe. The girl from down the street (Mikey was pretty sure her name was Melony) was doing yard work on Mrs. Wilson's property, which was directly across the street from his house. That by itself wasn't too strange. What *was* strange was that Melony was wearing Mrs. Wilson's clothes. And as he stared at the high school girl that was pretending to be an elderly woman, the *real* Mrs. Wilson jogged by, wearing a sports bra and tight running shorts, something that someone of that advanced age probably would never wear. Mikey remembered that his teacher Mrs. Warren usually took her morning jog right about at this time. Could it be that Mrs. Wilson took Mrs. Warren's place, just like Jon took Zoe's place? It was the only thing that made sense. So, that meant that Zoe took someone else's place, maybe even that Melony girl. And then Melony took Mrs. Wilson's place, and so on. But if Mrs. Wilson took Mrs. Warren's place, then what happened to Mrs. Warren?
