BEEP BEEP BEEP The alarm startles you awake. You're back in your room, it looks like you were sleeping in your chair. Quickly getting up, you stride across the room to your clock radio and slap the top of it, stopping the alarm. It's 0800, time to get ready for school. As you dress yourself, you think about how absurd it is that you're still going. You could wish to know everything the school would teach you right now. In fact, you're never going to fail a test again! But that doesn't seem so important anymore. Instead, you think while pulling on a green t-shirt, you are now the keeper of the most powerful object on the planet. You stare at the stone, it's simple metallic colouring seems to shift and swirl a little in the dim morning light. Of course, the full weight of the situation hasn't really hit you. How could it? All the same, you feel like the best thing to do is go to class anyway. For one, you don't feel competent enough to make life-changing wishes yet. For two, the normality is probably good for you psychologically. A part of you is scared of yourself, what you might do if the power gets to your head. Going to school like everyone else your age seems like a good exercise in humility. Picking up the small rock, you say "I wish that the only way this stone could leave my posession, is by me willingly giving it away." There. Now you can carry it around in your pocket without fear. You tuck it away, finish getting ready, and head out the door. You regret your "exercise in humility" almost as soon as it begins. But then, if it were easy, it wouldn't be worth much. And sitting quietly in class really isn't so hard, when you know you don't really need to pay attention and can imagine all the wishes you could make. After class, you return to your usual spot on the wall to wait for Karyn. It doesn't take long, and you spot her coming out of the main science building where she had her last class on Tuesdays. She's wearing a baggy sweater, grey this time, but you quickly notice her hair. It's still blonde, but it's been cut to shoulder length. Karyn sees you and smiles, then picks up the pace a little and jogs over to you from across the quad. Her hair bobs around her head, and you think that you're actually starting to kind of like it. As you watch your friend get closer, you feel a familiar pang in your chest, and reflexively hurry to stuff the feeling away. Though, as you do, you take a pause. You had never made a move, because of how worried you were about ruining your friendship with her. She really was a treasure, always so kind and relaxed. A lot of things were going to change now. Did you want this to be one of them? Your thoughts are interrupted as she hops up on the wall beside you, and gives you a hug, before leaning back on her hands. "Hey Jon, still coming to class? I was sure you'd just wish to be Einstein." You laugh. It's not lost on you that even though Karyn knew about the rock, she hadn't asked you for anything. After discretely sticking your hand in your pocket and wishing that no one would overhear your conversation, you tell Karyn about all the small wishes you made yesterday to test the rock. She listens intently, nodding her head at some of your conclusions, and giving her opinion on others. She's really smart, probably smarter than you, and you're glad to have her thoughts. You finish your discussion, and both sit on the wall in silence. "So, you cut your hair?" You ask. "I thought you wished for it to be long?" "Oh, right." Karyn says "I cut it short myself yesterday, and everything went fine." "Huh. That's weird, I wouldn't have guessed you could do that." "What, you thought I was going to have indestructible hair forever?" "Yeah, kind of." You smile. Kayrn looks you in the eye, and tilts her head a little. "So, is that all you wished for?" Memories of your time as a pussy flood you. "Uh, yeah. Why do you ask?" "Nothing really." Karyn looks at the ground. "It's just that I was kinda hoping you had at least a little fun with it. You don't really do much like that, I thought maybe the rock would let you enjoy yourself a little." You feel your face grow hot. Then you realize that it kind of feels like being the pussy of a girl getting aroused, which just makes things worse. Karyn looks back towards you, and her eyes open wide in shock. "Oh my god! You did wish for something else!" You know she'll see right through you if you lie, she always could. You look away. "Jon! That's great! What was it?" "Um, I wished for some really comfortable shoes." Karyn grabs a hold of your face, and gently turns it towards her own. There's nothing to do but look into her hazel eyes. "Nuh-uh, why would you be embarassed about that?" She cracks a wide grin "It was a sex thing wasn't it?" "What! No, why would you" You turn away again, your face burning hot enough to cook on. Then Kayrn laughs, and she sounds... happy? It's kind of similar to the laugh you heard while you were getting rubbed. "Jon, that's great! Good for you! As long as you're safe. She pauses. "So, what was it?"

Will out (13)

I really want to say, you may not have thought about this, but this also really goes against what was already established for Karyn in the first chapter. She was very negative about human male sexuality, showing contempt for and reducing all of them to just drooling over women's breasts. I find it hard to believe she'd do a 180 and be pleased and sex-positive with Jon doing sexual things, she'd be much more likely to react with contempt and something like "you're just like all the rest of them after all". In fact in light of what she does think of members of the male sex, I find it hard to understand how she could have ever have become friends with a boy in the first place. Maybe it would have been better to ditch Karyn as the target of Jon's interactions here. He's not Romeo and she's not Juliet. They are not soulmates and when one or both of them have power, they wouldn't be likely to get along for long, and I would expect Jon being anything more than a eunuch in front of her would set this off. He may think favorably about her but remember they're still "friends" after being childhood friends yet she's very ardently negative toward human male sexuality. It paints a picture to me. In most of my own stories I have pushed Karyn to being secondary or not good-intentioned for this reason.
