In the hallway, she pushed open the door to the guest bedroom. The Maxwells didn't have a maid right now. They had one several years earlier, when they needed some extra to take care of Grandma Maxwell. But they hadn't needed one since she passed.
Lydia stripped, and put on an old maid's clothes that had been left over in the closet. She then went downstairs to serve the family.
