Meanwhile, at the Robertson's J.J. and Karyn were soon handling the girls with a skill few mothers possess. J.J. was continuing to enjoy taking care of children, and he was good at it.
After a while the girls were finally in bed, asleep.
"You know Jennifer, you are really good at this mothering stuff."
While J. J. still didn't like being called Jennifer, he had come to accept that arguing about it was a losing cause.
"It isn't that hard." J. J. said, trying to play it down.
"No it isn't Jennifer. You will make a great mother some day."
"Karyn!" J. J. said. "You **do** remember that I am a guy, don't you?"
"I don't think you are really a guy." Karyn said, then continuing before Jennifer could comment, "I know you are **physically** a boy, or at least more boy than girl. But think about it. You are acting more like a girl than a guy, a lot more."
"But I am not trying to do that." J. J. said.
"I know Jennifer, but you are a natural."
"What do you think it means?" J. J. asked.
"Maybe you should have been born a girl." Karyn said.
J. J. thought about what Karyn said. He didn't *want* to be a girl. But then he didn't have any really strong reasons for being a guy, beyond he was born that way.
"I don't know " J. J. began.
"Don't worry about it Jennifer. Just let things happen." Then changing the subject, Karyn asked, "What do you think of Ryan? Isn't he just about the *hunkiest*?"
J. J. thought about Ryan. He was definitely a male. When J. J. compared himself to Ryan he had to admit that Ryan made him look a lot like a girl.
"He is a *hunk*, I agree with you there." J. J. said.
"But you think Justin is more *hunky*, right?"
J. J. blushed because Karyn was right. J. J. did think that Justin was more *hunky* that was Ryan.
J. J. was more than glad when the conversation move on to other topics.
'*Tomorrow has got to be better.*' J. J. thought as he and Karyn headed off to bed, sharing the bed J. J. normally used just as if they were two girls.
