Jonathan's Father

Without realizing that it was a *wishing* stone, Jonathan said "You know, I wish my father could be here to see this." Suddenly, the stone began to glow, causing everyone who saw it to look away momentarily. "Did you see that?" "That thing really *is* alien," someone nearby said. "I wonder what makes it glow," Jonathan said, looking it over closely. But it was just a stone. He couldn't tell what made it glow just by looking at it. He'd have to analyze it back in his lab. "I'm so proud of you, Jon," a voice suddenly said. Jonathan froze. He knew that voice. It belonged to his father. But it couldn't be him. He died over ten years ago. "Excuse me," a woman said. "No civilians are allowed here." "But that's my son." People were talking to him. He was really there. It wasn't just Jonathan's imagination. He slowly turned around and saw his father, just as he remembered him before the day he died. "Hello, Jon," he said. His father was the only person who ever called him Jon, rather than Jonathan.
