"Where did *this* come from?" Mrs. Farber asked, picking up the strange stone from the floor. "I don't know," Mike said. Really, though, he didn't care. What *he* wanted answered was why he was at the Farber house at all. He tried to think back to why he came there, but he drew a blank. Of course, Mike wasn't really the sharpest knife in the drawer. He might have been great out on the football field, but when it came to everything else ... Mrs. Farber looked down into the basement again and sighed.
