Jon said, quickly and quietly, "I wish you'd shut up for a minute, Zoe. And I wish anyone else in the house would think that scream was coming from a TV, and not worry about it." Some footsteps they'd heard from downstairs suddenly stopped, as if they'd realized something. Jon realized he now had other things to worry about than cleaning up. "I wish Karyn and I were wearing the clothes we had on a while ago." He then turned back to Zoe, and said, "Sorry about that. We wouldn't have done that if we'd known you were in there. And I certainly didn't mean for you to be here, with us."
