By the time Jon and Karyn had scooped up four shovels-worth of dirt and tossed them into the well, a young man casually walked towards them. "What are you doing?" the man asked. Jon stopped digging into the ground and looked uneasily towards Karyn. He hoped that they could fill in the well without anyone being around. Then he looked back at the guy. "Nothing," he said. It was unconvincing. Even an idiot could see that he was digging. The man turned and looked at Karyn. "Tell me what you're doing." "We're filling the well up with dirt so no one can make anymore wishes," Karyn said. Jon spun around. "Karyn!" He couldn't believe that she just told him. "What? It's the truth." The guy walked a little closer and shoved his hands in his pockets. "Maybe you could knock this guy out?" he asked Karyn. "What are you talking about?" Jon asked. Why would Karyn knock him out? They were friends. She wouldn't just do it because this guy said so. But then Jon remembered the notebook filled with the wishing well wishes. One of them said: *I wish women couldn't say no to me!* Jon's eyes went wide. This was the guy that made that wish. He ... Karyn slowly lifted up her shovel and swung it into the back of Jon's head, causing him to fall lifelessly to the ground. Karyn then crouched down next to him. "Oh, Jon. I'm so sorry. The shovel must have slipped out of my hands. I ..." "Leave him alone," the man said. Karyn stood up. "Okay." The man smiled. "Why don't you come with me? We could get a hotel room or something." "Okay," Karyn said, walking over to the man. He took her hand and led her out of the park. "By the way, my name is Cecil." "Hi, Cecil. My name is Karyn."

Zoe Makes a Wish (19)

Wait a moment, just because she can’t say no to him doesn’t mean she would actually do as he said. It seems more reasonable that she would say ok and then hit Cecil with the shovel. I can’t respect this version of Jon and Karyn anyway though, they actually showed up in person to fill in the well with hard work as if that was somehow easier than wishing for it to be done, that makes 0 sense. “We don’t even NEED to wish for the well to be buried, why would we do that when we can simply shovel tens of tons of dirt onto it by hand with shovels!”

If you want to criticize the way the wish is being granted, then go back to deepfried's episode (https://fictionbranches.net/fb/story/16944) where Linda Masters is affected by Cecil's wish. It's basically the same thing. I just continued with the same idea. As for filling the well, it's kind of the only way to do it, as wishing that the well was filled would make it so that the well essentially wouldn't exist, so that would be a contradiction of the wish for the existence of the wishing well in the first place. I wrote that episode a long time ago, but even though I didn't write it like that, I kind of got the sense that that's what was meant by it.
