Jon was stunned but he realised that both Karyn and Steve appeared to be waiting for an answer. Karyn had a smirk on her face for some reason. “I…umm…Can’t” Jon managed to stammer out as he tried to quickly think of an excuse. “I have…homework…lots of homework…” And for the second time that morning, Jon dashed off away from an embarrassing conversation. Steve looked at Karyn. "What's up with Jon?" "Not sure," Karyn lied. "I mean, you know Jon..." Or she thought she did. She didn't know whatever the real Jon was, clearly. But he obviously wasn't with Steve. "Just a girl thing then," Steve said. Karyn pretended to shrug. "Well, I'm sure everything will be back to normal soon. Just give him some space."
