"I wish I knew what I need to know to get by like this," Jon muttered to himself absently as he walked.
Suddenly, a rush of new memories entered his mind. Derek showing off the white marble he'd found, and explaining that when two people made a bet while touching it, the terms of the bet were magically enforced. Jon, not believing that it worked, bet that he could outskate Derek, knowing full well that he couldn't. The loser would dress like Madison for 30 days. Also, years of memories of skating practice forced themselves through his consciousness.
Perhaps there's a way out of this, Jon thought.
