Jon's Mom Makes a Wish

Jon's mom (Jane) walked into the kitchen, noticing that there was a half-eaten bowl of cereal and a nearly-full glass of milk sitting on the table, and wondered who could have left it there. She supposed it could have been Jon, but why would he have left for school without finishing his breakfast? Sitting next to the bowl of cereal was an odd-looking milky-colored stone. She picked it up, wondering what it was and where it came from. At that moment, her daughter Zoe bounded down the stairs, all "gothed up" as usual. Jane shook her head. "Zoe, I told you.
