Jon got his answer and explained it to Karyn. "It's not working right because I didn't come up with an airtight perfectly worded wish that could not be misinterpreted. What the fuck?"
"It's true," said Karyn. "It has to be."
"But it's not what I meant. I want to know why the stone is even trying to misinterpret wishes. It didn't behave like this before. Hey, wait a minute! It worked whenever I was a girl. It works for you." He thrust the stone in front of Karyn's face. "Here, you try it."
"I don't know, but you're right, my wishes did work. I got a good sandwich, you got a bad one. Okay, I wish I know why this stone isn't working right."
"And? Did it tell you?"
"It told me, Jon. That's not your stone. Someone swapped it for a stone that only is nice to girls. I don't know if we can get your stone back, but there's one thing we need to do. One thing *you* need to *have done*, that is."
"All right, then do it!"
"I wish that Jon becomes a girl until he has a way to make good wishes without being one. I wish that while he's a girl he'll gradually become happy to be one."
Jon instantly transformed. This time he didn't have red hair, though it was longer, and he wasn't nearly naked either. He looked a lot more like a female version of himself. His toenails still had red on them, as well as his fingernails. His breasts were around a C cup. Astonished, he exclaimed "How can you do this?!"
"It's only until you get the real stone back."
"What if that takes a year? Ten years? Never?"
"Then we reinterpret that wish and change you back. I'm sure there's a way. In the meantime, Isabel, you have your wishing stone." She handed Jon the stone back.
Jon sighed. "I guess I have to live with it. Being a girl can't be that bad...."
