Earlier ... "Okay, have a good day, sweetie," Linda said, stopping on the side of the road. "Uh, wait. This isn't my school," Mikey said, looking out the car window. "Don't be silly. Of _course_ this is your school. Chesapeake Middle School." "But, I don't ..." "Mikey, I'm going to be late for work. Now get out," she said, starting to get irritated. Not knowing what else to do, Mikey did as she said, feeling bewildered and a bit lost at the moment. He walked into the school. He had never been there before, but apparently his mom thought that he normally went there. He didn't recognize anyone. They were all at least two years older than him. Though, unknown to him, that wasn't true. By now, he was actually 12 years old. But then he spotted someone that he _did_ know. Her name was Athena and she was his sister's best friend ... well, _used to be_ his sister's best friend. With how Zoe was now, he wasn't sure if they were still friends at all. They both approached each other, recognizing one another. Then Athena spoke up. "Umm ... hi, Mikey." "What are _you_ doing here?" Mikey asked. "Shouldn't you be at the high school?" "You ... remember that?" she asked. "Well, sure." "Shouldn't you be at your elementary school?" Athena asked. "Yeah, I should. But my mom dropped me off here instead." Athena seemed to scrutinize Mikey for a moment. "Are you taller?" Mikey looked down at himself, then around the half-filled hallway. At this point, people were headed to their second period class. "I don't know. I guess I do feel a little taller, but I didn't even notice until you said something." Was he already taller before, but just didn't notice until now? He had to be. After all, he had made a wish to stop what was happening (or so he thought), so the changes shouldn't still be occurring. "So what now?" Athena asked. "I know I'm not supposed to be here. And I know you're in the same boat. So what ..." Athena said, but was interrupted by another student neither of them knew. "There you two are. I was looking all over for you," the girl said. "No one saw you during first period class. Did you two just get here?"
