The stone he put in its place looked exactly like the old stone. It was the "Amnesia Stone", which grants wishes just like the regular stone, but the wisher forgets that he or she had wished for anything and thinks that the new reality is normal, and also it doesnt affect the minds of the people who dont hear the wish.
