As Sarah McMillan tossed and turned in bed, the stone materialized beside her pillow. She rolled over and her cheek touched the Deity Stone, causing a white flash. If the bright light hadn't been enough to wake her up, the sheer pain of her burned cheek would. She jumped out of bed screaming. "No!" She switched on the lights, hoping in vain ... yes, in vain.
