"I wish Sarah McMillan was desperately in love with me," Jon said. The stone glowed, granting his wish. *Maybe now Sarah won't treat me like dirt,* he thought. Jon waited to see if he changed in some way, or if his bedroom changed in some way, but nothing seemed to happen. He shrugged. The stone did glow, so his wish *was* granted. Maybe he wouldn't notice a difference until he got to school. But unknown to him, his wish wasn't granted to him. Instead, it was granted to all the cheerleaders, even Sarah herself.
