The next day before school started, Jon met up with Karyn at their usual meeting spot, the wall where he first showed her the wishing stone. "Did you bring it?" she asked. "Of course, I did," Jon answered, pulling the stone out of his pocket. "Did you figure out a way to fix yourself?" Karyn sighed. "No. And I was up all night, too. What about you?"
