"I look like ..." Linda Jennings couldn't say the name. "No, not her!" She pointed at her face. "Don't you see the resemblance?"
"No," replied Jennifer Taylor. "You don't look like anyone I've ever seen. That's what makes this so creepy."
"Look at yourself!" yelled Linda. Her voice echoed inside the girls' bathroom.
"Hey, quiet!" shouted someone from inside a stall.
"I'm still *me,*" said Jennifer. "I look exactly like my sister. Dark brown hair, round face, a little shorter than average ..."
"But she's blonde with a narrow face ..."
"Maybe the magic affected *your* mind," suggested Jennifer. "How can we be sure *your* memories are correct?"
"Shhh. Let's go outside," whispered Linda.
Jennifer lowered her voice to match Linda's. "But we have class in this building in ..." She glanced at her watch. "Ten minutes."
"Doesn't matter. We can't talk about this here." *Not like anyone would believe us anyway,* thought Linda, *but still, we can't take any chances.*
"Okay." Jennifer followed Linda out of the building and back to the tree whose fallen branch had turned blue.
Linda looked around to make sure nobody else was within earshot. "You really don't recognize who I resemble now?"
"No."
"Maybe the magic is symmetrical somehow ... because I don't recognize your face either. You can hear that I sound a little different, right? Even though you don't think you do."
"Yeah."
"If I don't look like anyone you know, maybe that person doesn't exist anymore. Let's see if her name rings a bell. She's ..."
