Unknown to Jon and Karyn, the stone was actually The Missing Stone, and shortly after Jon made his wish and put it down on his nightstand, the stone disappeared from his room and reappeared somewhere else.
In fact, the stone was now in the possession of Kyla Leeson. As part of the stone's power, Kyla knew she had a stone that would grant wishes.
