Like all possessors of this particular stone, Zoe thought it was the wishing stone (the one that Jon had inherited from his grandfather). But Zoe thought that *she* had inherited from her grandfather, and not Jon.
So, she had no idea that the stone would disappear after her first wish.
Clutching the stone, Zoe said "I wish ..."
