Because this stone was actually The Substitution Stone, Zoe's wish was changed to "I wish all the Preps would *love* Goths." To Zoe and Athena's confusion, none of the preppy girls who were roaming around the school grounds seemed to change. Unknown to them, though, they *did* change ... mentally. They all suddenly loved everyone from the Goth crowd. And from that moment forward, all the Preps would do anything to become friends with them (or even more than friends). "Hey, what the fuck?" Zoe uttered. "How come they didn't turn into Goths?" A preppy girl turned around and looked at them. But instead of the usual look of distaste, Zoe and Athena saw a look of appreciation and adoration. It looked completely alien on the Prep's face, especially since it was directed towards them. The girl (whose name was Melissa Smith, one of Sarah McMillan's closest friends) approached them and smiled at them. "Hi, girls," she said with a bubbly voice, waving. Zoe and Athena exchanged odd looks. Why was she being so friendly to them? But more importantly, why didn't Zoe's wish work?
