Jon carried the bag of garbage to the curb, deposited it in the can, and started back to the house when a flash came from the upstairs window. He blinked, confused and disoriented for a second. He felt concerned for a second, but then he pushed the odd feeling away and it faded almost instantly. After all, in this new reality, he didn't even know what there was to be worried about.
