The Wishing Ring: Jake Plays Ball

"Baby," the girl said to Jake. "Why'd you make Dave get changed?" Jake wasn't sure what to say. Everything was weird, everyone was acting weird. What *could* he say? "I wish you were playing in today's game, then we wouldn't *need* good luck." Suddenly, Jake's world went fuzzy and dark, and when the world came back, he was bombarded with light and sound. "Hey, man," a tall young man asked. "You okay?" As Jake's eyes focused, he saw that the man was wearing a basketball jersey. The same as Jake was wearing in all those pictures in his apartment. It was also the same as the ones the basketball players were wearing on the TV. As his mind cleared, his eyes went wide. He was actually there at the basketball game that was being broadcast on his TV. But he wasn't just attending the game. He was playing in it!
