As Lizzie watched the computer screen, she saw her new sister Erica being picked up by Jason. She was so focused on watching her former brother, however, that she hadn't noticed that the bedroom door was opening behind her.
"Lizzie? What are you doing in your sister's room?" her mother asked, breaking her away from the computer screen.
She wasn't sure of how to answer her. It seemed that any excuse wouldn't be good enough.
