"We just wished that we'd be accepted by *ourselves* too," Alison said. "I suppose we did," said Joy. "It *is* as good as being a boy, after all. In fact, I wish that we'd stay female for the rest of our lives." The stone glowed, granting her wish. "Good idea," Alison said. A minute ago, she would have been overly upset by that wish, but now (since her attitude change) she thought it was a great idea. The way she saw it, they were as good as boys right now, so why bother trying to change back to what they were? They might as well stay as girls.
