"Lorraine, I don't think you understand what I'm saying." It was midnight. Gary and Lorraine Meadows were in their kitchen, arguing about what had happened to their son Biff. "No, I understand. But why call the police?" "Did you *see* him? He's ... he's ..." He couldn't say it. "I know. But what are we supposed to tell them? That our son left this morning normal and then came back as a geek? What kind of crime is that?" "I'll tell you what kind of crime that is. My son is the *captain* of the high school football team, for god's sake. It's always been my dream that my son would do something like that. And now someone has ripped that away from me. Some sick mind that gets a thrill out of ruining other people's lives." "Oh, so this is actually all about *you*, then." "*What*?" "You don't really care about how Biff lives his life. You just want him to do what *you* want him to do." "That's not what I'm saying at all." Upstairs, Biff was sitting in his bedroom. He could hear his parents arguing downstairs. They were arguing about *him*, about his transformation. He tried to explain to them that he liked being a geek. But his father obviously didn't take it very well. He picked up his cellphone and called Jay for help. At ten minutes past midnight, Jay showed up. "I'm glad you could come," Biff said. His voice was still sounded nasally. "My father is going to call the police. My mother is trying to talk him out of it, but I think he'll do it anyway." "It's okay. I'm here to help." He lifted up the personality manipulator and smiled. "Everything will be okay." Biff smiled.
