Jon looked closer at the medals and trophies, while Zoe used a towel to wipe off her sweat.
"Volleyball?" Jon said to himself. "I thought it would be football." And why wouldn't it be? Biff *was* the captain of the school football team.

"Oh yeah. Of course." Jon deduced that since girls couldn't play football, Zoe picked another sport that fulfilled her dream of being an athelete. He couldn't imagine her playing volleyball. Or any sport, for that matter. The Zoe that *he* knew wouldn't want anything to do with it.
"Are you gonna come and watch me play tonight?" she asked.
"Tonight?"
"Jon, you know that tonight is the big game. I really wish you'd come. Maybe you could bring Karyn with you." And then, in a lower voice and with a smile, "You know she's pretty hot. I bet you have a lot of *fun* with her."
That last statement was definitely from Biff's personality. But it was still weird hearing it come from Zoe.
