What Kind of Vet?

After school the next day, Jen and Karyn met up with each other, just like they had planned. Karyn said that she had been thinking about what to wish for all night. She said that she liked working with animals and she wanted to become a veterinarian. Jen didn't see anything wrong with that. So, she let Karyn wish for it. "I wish to become a vet." Unfortunately, there's more than one definition for the word "vet". One is a veterinarian and another is a military veteran. Which one would Karyn become?
