749 looked at Sarah. "Wait," 749 said, stopping Sarah (who was still possessed by the AI 263) from making her wish.
"What is it?" Sarah asked.
"He's gone."
"Who's gone?"
"The one named Jon. His mind is gone. I have none of his memories."
"That's impossible," Sarah said. "Unless ..."
Karyn (also still possessed by an AI) took advantage of Sarah's confusion and snatched the stone from her.
She smiled. "The master will be pleased," she said, not realizing that they all had a serious problem with Jon being "missing".
