Actually

Heh...actually it was more just me scrounging around for a good angle on the setting. There may have been some *Ghostbusters* influence as with the KoL link, but it was actually more directly inspired by *[The Stone Tape,](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=veGrGk0uBd4)* a BBC production by the same writer that gave the world *[Quatermass and the Pit,](http://archive.org/details/QuatermassAndThePit-EpisodeOne)* which is also excellent. (And which itself inspired a character spoiler I may or may not follow through on...haven't really decided. Good Lord, but there's a lot of obscure British science fiction influence in this story.)
