Let The Experiment Begin

Jon and the others stared at their captor as he approached them, walking into the dim light that came from above their heads. He was a lanky old man, wearing a very disheveled outfit. The clothes were dirty and ripped, almost as if they had been thrown away and this guy took them as his own. "You're probably wondering why you're here," he said, with a gravelly voice. He looked at them with those dead eyes, then smiled. "You'll know soon enough." He turned away from them and walked to the wall on their right. All four guys turned their heads and watched their captor place his hand on a switch that was part of a weird-looking machine. "Let the experiment begin," their captor announced, then he pulled the switch. The dim light above their heads suddenly became intensely bright, so bright that they had to close their eyes. And when they opened them, they knew something was wrong.
