Something Catching: Cooties

"No," Tiffany said. "I've just been feeling weird all morning. Hope I'm not getting sick." "Well, get away from me...I don't want to catch a cold or flu or something," Sarah said, backing up. She hated being sick. Tiffany had spent the previous night with a boy. And, she had in fact caught something. A new disease that was not life-threatening. But, being as it was new, no one would recognize it as a disease or know what to do about it. But, its tendency to be transmitted from one individual to a member of the opposite sex would later get it nicknamed cooties. On a positive note, it meant that Sarah, for the moment, was in no danger from Tiffany of catching it.
