The Bench: Linda the Small

"I'm going to give you till the count of five," Mikey said. He started counting down... "Five...four..." in between four and three, the timbre of Mikey's voice started to change, deepening. "Three..." "Wait...I'll open the...door," Linda's voice cracked suddenly, shooting in the opposite direction. "I'm still counting, Linda," Mikey said, his voice growing more unnerving to her. Linda shuddered and opened the door a crack and peeked out. What she saw was...Mikey's stomach. She slowly looked up, arching her head back to see Mikey's face. She felt so...small all of the sudden. She couldn't believe her son was so large. In fact, he was only 5 foot 4 inches tall...a size she'd been not long before. But having adopted his height of 4 feet, 3 inches...the world seemed very different. "Now, what's this all about?" Mikey demanded.
