He heard a beep, and reached into a purse that had suddenly appeared around his arm and found a smart phone. There was a message alert on it. A new story from the local news. "Rival night spots sign big acts ... Trendy downtown Nova and Goth-themed hot spot The Spiked Pit have both signed big names ..." He skimmed down. "The owner of the Nova was unavailable for comment, but referred all press queries to the new manager ... Owner and operator of The Spiked Pit, Agatha Pierce, insisted that it was just business."
