Jon touched his hair. It didn't feel different. "Are you serious?"
Sarah snorted again. "Yeah! And you're getting paler."
Jon glanced at his arms and gasped as he saw freckles spread across his lightening skin. He tried to brush off the innumerable brown dots. They weren't makeup. They were part of him! "No!"
"Yes, Jon. I don't understand why you wanted to become an O'Brien."
"A *what?"*
"But who can understand losers like you? Maybe I will. I always wondered what it'd be like to be a nobody for once." She stroked her hair as it darkened. "To not have to care about what other people thought all the time. To not have to keep up with the crowd. That gets tiring. I want to let go."
*Looks like you have,* thought Jon. Sarah was getting chubbier by the second.
"I can barely fit into this outfit anymore," said Sarah. "I wish I had bigger clothes. This is the loosest thing I had. Too bad the gas can't affect stuff. Just people. I'll have to get an all-new wardrobe. At least I won't have to be picky."
Jon sighed. *Always self-absorbed. What about me?* "What'd you say I was becoming again?"
"I told you. An O'Brien." Jon saw irritation in Sarah's eyes. They had gone from blue to green.
"Like Conan?"
"No! Like Lauren!" Sarah's eyes were hazel now. Her vision was getting blurry. She needed glasses. Not contacts. She *wanted* glasses.
"Ow!" Jon felt as if an invisible hand had grabbed his face and was resculpting it. "You mean I'm becoming - ouch!"
"Lauren's brother!"
