The Relationship Evolves

"How old are you?" Zoe asked her. "I'm...fourteen..." she said, looking up at Zoe. She had been eye to eye with the other girl just a moment ago. "I mean...I'm almost fourteen..." She stumbled. "See what I mean?" Zoe said. "I could pass for fourteen," Linda insisted, her voice growing a bit higher, and her figure disappearing even further. "I mean...twelve is practically fourteen..." Zoe blinked, and suddenly, even Linda's clothes were different. She'd been wearing a woman's business suit, a thought that seemed really strange. Why would a kid be wearing a business suit? That would be weird. So was the idea that this was her room. The room clearly belonged to a kid, not a young woman like herself. "So...can I hang out with you guys?" Linda asked. She didn't want to tell her no. "Umm...maybe next time," she said.
