Pulling up another text, Jon began to type his reply: *I would rather you tell me who you are and what this is about!*
Jon didn't feel like choosing between two scenarios so bad. Even if they were purely hypothetical (and something on the back of his mind was telling him that they weren't). This time he didn't set the phone down but instead kept staring at it, waiting for a reply.
Looking even closer at the number of the person who sent him the text, he realized that he was wrong thinking they keep changing. In reality they stayed constant but it was his mind that couldn't fully grasp them. The moment he thought he remembered one of the digits, another one was slipping out of his mind.
*Weird...* Jon thought as he felt the smartphone buzz in his hand. This time it wasn't a reply to his text. It was a new email notification...
He quickly opened it and read:
*Jon, dear. Why are you spoiling the fun and refusing to choose at this very first time? Maybe I started with a little too drastic of a choice for your first decision. This* **one time** *I'll let this slip. The next text will contain another, easier "Would you rather" challenge and I hope that this time you can be man enough to actually make a decision.
Don't worry. Starting slow doesn't mean we won't eventually get to what I had planned for you. We will. I promise.
