Would it be possible or practical to interest a new cast?

I've had some ideas for stories that could be made into a CYOA styled thing for a while now but I know Jon n' crew are kinda the main draw here. Would it be possible to setup something so the wishing rock goes to a new school or whatnot? Potentially I could just introduce them into the school with the usual cast but I'm not sure how well that'd go, the result might be awkward. Not sure if anyone would be interested in this but I'd just kinda go along introducing character after character and various stories, while adding branching TFs along the way by the side.
