Teasing: Merging

Just after the bell rang, someone noticed a sticky note attached to the underside of their desk. The person grabbed it, looked at it, then read it. "I wish that I and the person sitting to the right of me would merge into one person." The person looked at the note a moment longer, wondering why someone would write that and then stick it to the underside of the desk. But then the person shrugged and tore up the note, essentially destroying it. As the teacher began to talk, however, the person who read the note began to become dizzy. But who read the note ... and who was sitting to the right?
