In The Hall

Steve left his first class and walked down the hall to his locker. On the way there, he spotted Melissa. She was one of the two girls that the real Steve was flirting with right before he turned into a Goth. Steve smiled, but inside his head, the *real* Steve was shocked. *Melissa?* he thought. *Wha ... what happened to you?* She wore a tight black heavy metal band print T-shirt, a short leather miniskirt, black knee-high lace-up boots with 4-inch stacks, and fishnet stockings. Gone was her beautiful blond hair and tanned skin, now replaced with black hair and pale white skin. And her pink make-up was also gone, replaced with black make-up. "Are you coming to my party, Melissa?" he asked. "Of course, I am. I wouldn't miss it for the world," she said, smiling. But inside her head, the *real* Melissa was yelling. Yelling for help that she would never get. As Steve and Melissa talked, Jon and Karyn passed by. "Have you thought about where you might have lost the stone yet?" Karyn asked. "Karyn, I told you. I didn't *lose* it. It was stolen. I had it in my bedroom when I went to sleep and when I woke up it was gone," Jon explained again. Then Jon and Karyn passed by Sabrina, who was busy talking with her "new" friends Amber and Allison. What Jon and Karyn were talking about piqued her interest. "Who would steal a stone?" Karyn asked. "Maybe someone knew it was magic." "Who could know *that*? Only you and me know about it, right?" "As far as I know. I mean, I didn't tell anyone else about it." Sabrina wondered if they were talking about the stone she found.
