Heading eastward into the night a sports utility vehicle moved with a mission. The vehicle had to many antennas it belonged to a communications junkie. It belonged to Jacob Isaac. Jacob checked the map display on his dashboard, the GPS and the road signs all confirmed that he was on Interstate 676 headed for the bridge. Soon all this technology and Jacob's truly lousy sense of direction would be but to the test. Jacob did not like New Jersey. All the Jersey roads looked alike to him. Between Twenty- second Street and the bridge he contemplated the idea of an alternate employer. Nah! With his luck the job would be in Cherry Hill. Jacob knew that he would not need toll for the bridge going into New Jersey. The Delaware River Port Authority only charged drivers to leave the Garden State. Regardless of his trepidation's the vehicle continued onward through the night. Weed and Jones strove bravely to keep up their end as Tom Robins tried vainly to comfort them with reassuring small talk. Unfortunately Tom did not know how much more then the car they had lost. He did notice both of his guests had a strange habit of starring at their hands and feet as if they were looking for something else to be there. For a couple having an affair they also seemed to keep their distance from each other. Finally tiring of the silences Tom invited them to watch the classic movie he had been watch earlier. It was a long two and a half-hours before Jacob called asking for more directions. Fortunately he was less then a mile away and Tom guided him in on the final approach. Thanking there host Weed and Jones greeted Jacob. Mr. Jones and his lady friend seemed to be acting a little strange to Jacob. It was not until they were about two miles down the road that he started to find out how strange. "Jacob, What I am about to tell you will sound impossible. Please keep an open mind," said Weed. "OK" said Jacob. "First thing is I am not Raymond Jones I'm John Weed" Weed said in a desperate voice. "I ate lunch with you at Buds you had the pizza steak I had a cheese steak with mushrooms and onions" Weed blurted. "Gee, what did you do shave your mustache," Jacob remarked. Seeing that his friend required more convincing Weed continued. "Wait just a second, you not only think I am not me but you still probably think its my fault that Pam dropped you." "Sir, it's three o'clock in the morning, I have never known you or Weed to play practical jokes, so why start now with me." the driver pleaded missing a turn. "Your heading for North Jersey you know Jake. " Weed commented. "Regardless of who I am, I remember living other the other side of the Delaware and I know you have no love of Jersey." Jacob stopped the car. Weed seeing his target off balance went for the kill; "Your girl friend dropped you and now your lost in Jersey again." "OK! Enough already, John, only you can be this much of a pain in the ass" Jacob shouted. After a bit of nervous laughter Jacob asked, "ok, if you are you, why do you look like Raymond Jones?" Weed explained the day's events as best he could. Shaking his head Jacob got the car moving again and asked the young woman, so you, are Mr. Jones? "Yes, I am" She said. "I stopped at the supermarket on my way home to pick up some milk." Next thing I knew I woke up like this Hog- tied in the backseat of my car. Someone with my face then threatens to place my mind in a poodle unless I give him my Bankcard PIN numbers. After seeing what he had already done to me, I gave him the numbers. After that it was lights out again till Sir Galahad here try's to rescue me. Weed has already told you the rest," she finished.
