ABANDONED: A Major Problem?

A few minutes later, the limo arrived at a downtown office building. Charlie got out of the limo and looked up at it. At about fifty floors, it certainly wasn't shabby. *Renee works **here**?* Charlie thought, astonished. It was amazing that just by bumping into someone, Renee could go from being an average woman to being the CEO of a major company. After Charlie walked into the building, a woman ran up to him. She looked very nervous. "Thank *god* you're here, Ms. Smith," the woman said. "We have a major problem that needs your immediate attention." "What about my appoint ..." "That'll have to wait." Charlie didn't like this. He was willing to go along with everything, but if he had to actually put someone's fire out ... well, he didn't think he could do it. He wasn't really a CEO. He didn't have Renee's memories or her knowledge. He was just an insurance salesman. "This way, Ms. Smith," the woman said, pointing down a hall that branched off from the lobby.
