ABANDONED: Mostly Gone

Charlie walked the empty streets for what seemed like hours, but it was a welcome change to the constant crawling he did in the tunnel. There really was no one. No people, no cars, there weren't even any animals. Except, that wasn't totally true. While there were no cars on the roads, there *were* cars that were parked alongside them. But there were many less vehicles around than there should have been for a city the size of L.A. What happened to all the others? Did the city evacuate? He supposed that would make sense if it was just the people and most of the cars missing, but what about all the animals? And the sky that was clear of smog? No, there was something else going on here. But what?
