ABANDONED: A Little Girl

Charlie looked down at himself, expecting to see himself in his suit again. But instead, he saw the body of a little girl, wearing a cute frilly pink dress with puffy sleeves, sheer white knee socks and black Mary-Janes. It was like something a kindergarten-aged girl would wear. He stared. How was this possible? As unbelievable as it sounded, he was a girl now. He lifted his hand and pulled on one of his pigtails. He *felt* it. It was *his* hair. "Charlie?" the boy asked. "Are ... are you okay?" "You called me Charlie." "Yeah? That's your name." "But I'm a girl." The boy looked oddly at him. "It's short for Charlotte. Charlie, are you okay? Because you sound really strange." This whole *situation* was strange. Charlie knew who he was and he certainly wasn't this girl. And he would never believe that his memories got messed up. No, he was sure that something else was happening here. But what?
