**August 15, 2032 - Day of Arrival**
Well, we finally got out here and what do we find? Nothing. Oh, it's a very interesting-looking solar system, like something you'd see from a big-budget sci-fi movie. A few ringed planets here, a few gas planets there. One planet appeared to have at least thirty moons. But no aliens. Two years is along time to get excited about something. What a waste.

I'm glad that these verbal diaries exist. I couldn't imagine writing all of this down with pen and paper. My hands ache when I do that. Anyway, it's been a whole day since we got to the solar system that's sending out the signal. Still nothing exciting has happened. They did find out exactly where that signal was coming from. It was the third planet from the sun. Isn't that weird? Earth is the third planet from *our* sun too. Except that *this* planet seemed to be more like Venus, atmosphere-wise. Oh, and it also has this cool-looking ring around it, something that Venus doesn't have.

Man, people are really getting antsy around here. The guy I bunk with (his name is Arthur), well, he keeps getting really nervous. I'm not sure why. It's like he's expecting something to happen. To tell you the truth, I've been feeling a little like that myself. I don't know if it's just me, trying to cope with the fact that absolutely nothing has happened so far, or if it really *is* something. I've seen sci-fi movies, I know about how alien life is portrayed. Everything from lizard and bug creatures to energy lifeforms. Could it be that because nothing was found that maybe all the aliens are just non-corporeal beings and they're just floating around us like ghosts? Oh, man. That's freaky. I better not tell Arthur that. He'd probably have a seizure.

I've gotta make this one quick. Apparently the science team has stumbled onto a major discovery. They're gonna show all of us what they found over the ship's internal video network.
*In the background, a woman's voice begins to speak. "This is an important message from the ..."*
Okay, they're showing it. I've gotta go.
