LAKE POINT: A Blur

The rest of the night was a bit of a blur to Saronda, as she struggled to process what had just happened yet had to muddle through a typical evening in a completely foreign world. There was dinner "” just her and her mom eating macaroni and cheese, because apparently her dad was out of the picture in this world. There was homework, which at least was math and was normal. By the time she was done, it was time for bed, and as she tucked herself in, she stared around. And she thought. *What'll face me tomorrow? Who are my friends? What are dey like?* Her internal monologue lapsed between voices, one familiar and gone, and the other unfamiliar but permanent. *...And what did dat LaShawndra girl do to me?*
