A lot of them

Are from accounts that are now closed, or even ISP's like Angelfire or Geocities that don't exist anymore. For more recent picutes that don;t show up, try highlighting them and right clicking onthem and selecting "show element" or "examine source". You might find they are in a format you need a plug-in for, or that there is an easily corrected typo in the URL.
